WEEKEND
WORLD TOURS NOW AVAILABLE
(Winnipeg)
The next step in ticket marketing for the 2003 Ford World Curling Championships
took a giant stride today with the announcement of weekend world tours.
Two day world tours for the opening weekend, April 5 - 6, and 4 day world
tours for the championship weekend, April 10 - 13, are now available at
Select-a-Seat.
Zivan
Saper, President of the 2003 Ford World's organizing committee, said the
weekend packages have been carefully designed and priced to appeal to
curling fans everywhere. "We have enjoyed great success with our
full event package sales, and these will continue to be purchased for
the next several months. But right now, we want to reach out to those
who may not have the luxury of being able to spend a full nine days at
the Ford World Curling Championships. Our two day and four day world tours
are affordable from both a cost standpoint and commitment of time".
The
two day World Tour is priced at $75 and includes admission to 6 curling
draws, as well as the opening ceremonies on Friday, April 4. The four
day package, which includes the final round robin game and all tie-breaker,
playoff, semi-final and final games, is $120.
All
ticket packages are enhanced by the fact that ticket-holders have free
admission to the Extra End Pub - a mammoth, climate-controlled entertainment
facility to be located on the football field at Canad Inn Stadium.
"At
the world championships in 1991, our Hog Line Inn was a short bus ride
away, and it was the talk of the town for several years to follow. In
2003, the Extra End Pub will be just a stone's' throw away
and
we think this will be a tremendous benefit for our fans, to be able to
just slide across the road and enjoy the extra-curricular festivities",
Saper added.
The
Ford World Curling Championships will be held at Winnipeg Arena from April
5-13, 2003.
